April 28th is the day of mourning for workers injured or killed on the job.
On this day, we remember, we mourn , and we commit to making our workplaces safer for everyone.
Since 2011, three NAPE members tragically lost their lives as a result of workplace accidents. They are:
Wayne Wall
Howard Lavers
Joe English
We pay tribute to these workers and send our sincere and heartfelt condolences to their family, friends, and co-workers. We remember and we mourn all who have lost their lives or been injured on the job.
Mourning and remembrance, however, are empty gestures, if they don’t lead to action.
We must all work together – every single day – to ensure that our workplaces are safe, because one life lost, is one too many.
