CLERK
(PERMANENT)
LOCATION: ST. JOHN’S, NL
The Clerk is the first line of contact between NAPE and membership. This role would suit a driven individual with at least two years relevant experience, who leads through their ability to organize and deliver, can engage with superior communication skills and will produce growth and improved engagement with our diverse membership.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To act as a first point of contact for all members, taking inquiries and providing a high level of membership service;
• To facilitate the operation of the central switchboard, taking detailed messages and forwarding of phone calls to appropriate staff for engagement;
• Prepares and Distributes the Daily Attendance Record for all three NAPE offices;
• Files and Maintains Resource Materials for the NAPE Labor Library;
• Participates in the distribution of membership correspondence/mail-outs;
• Performance of related administrative and receptionist tasks;
• Provide assistance to the Administrative and Accounting Team;
• Prepares information kits, registration cards, and other collateral material for educational seminars, negotiating sessions, conventions, etc.;
• Prepares various reports, listings and data compilation for various Teams within the Organization; and
• Posts membership dues as directed by the Membership Team;
• May be required to assist with a variety of union activities, registrations at meetings, Convention preparation, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Graduation from post basic education facility with an emphasis on Office Administration or equivalent education and/or experience;
• Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (particularly Outlook, Word and Excel);
• Excellent telephone etiquette and able to communicate with a range of members;
• Knowledge of data protection policies;
• Experience working in a membership organization and experience with a memberships database;
• Attention to detail;
• Excellent organizational and time management skills;
• Ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team; and
• Willingness to learn new skills.
COMPENSATION:
Comprehensive salary and benefits package in accordance with the Staff Collective Agreement.
