NAPE Shocked and Saddened by Workplace Fatality

ST. JOHN’S, NL – Members of the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) are trying to absorb the news of the death of a worker with the Department of Transportation and Works which occurred today. The incident took place near Flat Bay this morning on the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH).

“We are shocked and deeply saddened to learn that another of our highway workers has died as a result of a tragic occupational accident,” said NAPE President Carol Furlong. “On behalf of all NAPE members, I extend deepest sympathies to his family and colleagues.”
