ST. JOHN’S, NL – Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) President Jerry Earle and Secretary Treasurer, Trevor King, presented the North Shore Recovery Effort, and Canadian Red Cross with donations totalling $75,000.

“We personally want to thank all the wildland fire fighters, ground crew, dispatch, the water bomber pilots, the Department of Transportation workers, healthcare workers, first responders, volunteers, and community members, all who gave of themselves to help others. Your courage, hard work, and commitment to protecting the people and places you love is truly heroic.” said Jerry Earle, NAPE President. “The devastation caused by these wildfires has deeply impacted our community, including our own members who live, work, and volunteer in the area,” said Earle.

“We know how hard it has been, and we want the people of the North Shore and surrounding areas to know they are not alone, and our Union is committed to being there every step of the way,” said Earle. “This donation is a part of our ongoing promise to stand by these communities on the long road ahead.”
