Correctional Officers Reach Tentative Agreement

ST. JOHN’S, NL – The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) and the provincial government have reached a tentative agreement for Correctional Officers.

According to NAPE President Carol Furlong, there was considerable discussion at the bargaining table over operational issues. These matters have now been resolved. The tentative agreement is based on the template agreement for public sector workers, which includes significant increases in shift differential and weekend premiums as well as improvements in contract language.  

Ratification votes are being scheduled for next week.
