NAPE Awards 18 Scholarships Totaling $11,000 to Students Across the Province

St. John’s, NL – The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) has awarded 18 scholarships totaling $11,000 to students pursuing a post-secondary education. NAPE annually awards scholarships to children and dependents of NAPE members pursuing a post-secondary education. Scholarships of $1500, $1000 and $500 are awarded based on academic achievement or a written essay.

“The cost of education can be a barrier for many young people. Those who pursue further education often have significant student loans to repay upon graduation,” said NAPE President Carol Furlong. “We are delighted to offer these scholarships each year to recognize the outstanding talent of the youth of our province and our union. I congratulate each of the scholarship recipients for their academic efforts and inspiring essays about the union movement.”
