NAPE calling on government to recall laid off highway workers following Hurricane Igor

“The highway depots that were closed for the summer are not due to open until November,” said Furlong. “Government needs immediately to try and repair the damage created all over this province,” said Furlong. “It makes no sense to leave highway workers on layoff status while communities remain isolated and our roads in treacherous conditions. The cleanup and repairs requested are massive and we need these workers back on the job and we need to be there now,” said Furlong.
