NAPE certified to represent workers with Horwood’s Home and Community Support Services

According to NAPE President Carol Furlong, workers voted over 99% in favour of joining NAPE. There are 133 employees working in communities included in the Central Regional Integrated Health Authority from Eastport to Westport including the Connaigre Peninsula, a large geographical area in central Newfoundland. The bulk of the employees are from the Grand Falls – Windsor area, but are also located in Baie Verte, Springdale, Buchans, Botwood, Lewisporte, Glenwood, Gander and Glovertown.

The agency provides the following services: community support, home support, palliative care, mental health, and family services, parent and family coaching, as well as supervised visitations for Child Youth and Family Services. This is the twenty-fourth group of home care workers that have voted to join NAPE.
