NAPE President Says Social Media Issue is a Diversion from Budget Cuts

ST. JOHN’S, NL –Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) President Carol Furlong says the ongoing dispute over the issue of social media is diverting attention in the House of Assembly from the issues resulting from the recent budget. Furlong is calling on the government to move on to focusing on their budget, which eliminated hundreds of jobs and has negatively impacted on the public services that the people of this province rely on every day.

“The House of Assembly needs to focus on the real issues at hand. The issues that matter most to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador,” said Furlong. “Everything else is just a sideshow that distracts everyone involved from the things that matter most. The people of this province deserve better.”
