NAPE president Carol Furlong said “We are very pleased to welcome this group of home-care workers to our union. We have successfully negotiated pay increases that are in line with the other 18 home-care agencies that we represent and have increased their benefit package. We’re proud to add them to our growing list of home care members.”

In addition to wage increases, workers will also receive increased vacation days, additional stat holidays, compensation for first aid renewals, and language around maximizing hours of work. The agreement will be in effect until June 30, 2014. Pay increases will be in effect from July 1, 2011, retroactively.
