Eastern Health Workers in Bonavista to Demonstrate Monday, August 11

ST. JOHN’S, NL – Workers at Golden Heights Manor in Bonavista, who are members of the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE), will be holding a demonstration on Monday to voice their concerns about working conditions and lack of proper air conditioning at their workplace.

In recent weeks, despite raising the potential for this issue to arise with Eastern Health several months ago, working and living conditions at Golden Heights Manor have been unbearable due to the heat in the building. The workers are concerned about the potential for harm to the residents as well each other and are calling on their employer to take immediate action to rectify these issues.

Date:              Monday, August 11

Time:             1:00 to 1:30 p.m.

Location:      Golden Heights Manor, Campbell Street, Bonavista

NAPE President Carol Furlong will be in attendance.
