First collective agreement for NAPE members in Stephenville

According to NAPE President Carol Furlong, the union negotiated significant monetary improvements in salary and benefits for the 18 long term care support workers. In addition to a salary increase, some of the enhanced benefits include, a $100 bonus per year, clothing allowance, paid breaks and meals, an additional statutory holiday, shift differential, paid training time, and improvements in annual leave, sick leave and overtime. The term of the contract is four years and expires November, 2014. Presidential Estates is long term care facility in Stephenville.
