The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) and the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Labour (NLFL)  held a solidarity rally for striking workers at Labatt on Tuesday, May 28, 2013.

Almost 100 people came the rally with representatives from the following unions/organizations in attendance: NAPE, NLFL, NL Nurses’ Union (NLNU), PSAC, FFAW/CAW, CUP/W, St. John’s and District Labour Council, CUPE, Canadian Federation of Students, AAHP.

The workers have been on strike since April 10, 2013.

Their employer, a huge multinational corporation, has made massive profits around the world, in Canada, and right here in this province. Despite this fact, the employer is asking for numerous concessions from their workers at the bargaining table.
