According to NAPE President Carol Furlong, in addition to the wage increase, the new agreement contains monetary increases in northern allowance, personal loss claims, sick leave pay-out and clothing allowance, as well as improvements to bereavement leave, sick leave accrual and contract language.

The new Agreement is effective as of April 1, 2012 and is set to expire on March 31, 2015.
